"At its core, it’s just people coming in for a cup of coffee — but even that small interaction can have a huge impact."

About Dusky Grouse

Dusky Grouse Coffee was founded in 2021 in the heart of Steamboat Springs, in the wake of a lonely post-covid world. Our vision started out boldly, bringing in high quality coffee and a love for music with records, public radio, pour overs and espresso but quickly softened as we realized that coffee shops should play a larger role in the community. We consider it our job now, to not just serve you a cup of damn good coffee- we want to bring people together and remind every soul that YOU ARE NOT ALONE. We continue to serve the best coffee in the valley, but additionally (and maybe more importantly) we have become a beacon in the valley for mental health, philanthropy and authenticity.

We stand proudly with the LGTBQ+ community.

We stand proudly with the sober community.

We stand proudly with our immigrant community.

And we hope you walk through our doors curious and leave feeling seen, appreciated and safe- and with a full heart and cup.

Meet the Team

We’re a small crew of baristas, creatives, and coffee lovers who care deeply about our craft and the people who walk through our doors. We’re here to make your day a little warmer — one cup at a time.

“Great coffee and the lattes are even better since they make all the syrups in house! The veggie breakfast burrito is delicious! It's SO hot when you get it so let it cool down. I love that the owner has created a lovely community out of this little coffee shop. They do so many get togethers and have cute little local art! Why would you fathom to go the chain coffee devil when you have the best coffee shop and support local?!”

“I really like this place, this is a genuine local coffee shop! They make all syrups in house and there is a great atmosphere. Prices are very reasonable, they have some food as well, other items for sale and outdoor seating and they are dog friendly!!!”

“This place is so awesome, the food and coffee is always amazing the atmosphere feels so homey and clean and the staff are so kind and patient. They even went out of their way to help me be able to eat despite my food allergies this morning. I cannot recommend this place enough”
